* This evening, Sunset marked the beginning of Chanukah, the Jewish Holiday celebrating, among other things, the miracle of the oil. They had only one day od oil left to warm the family and it lasted for 8 days. Happy Holidays!!

* Santa's Holiday for String - Dallas Children's Theatre!
Together again! There’s Santa, Frosty, dancing penguins, a singing armadillo, and more in this rollicking musical revue created especially for DCT audiences by Kathy Burks’ nationally celebrated troupe. Back by popular demand, it’s the perfect holiday gift, full of fun, friendship, and family!

* KwanzaaFest 2009 - Automotive Building at Fair Park. 10 am - 7 pm. It's an annual festival that hosts more than 50,000 people during the two-day event. Contributing to the overwhelming success of KwanzaaFest is the variety of free family friendly activities that include mini-concerts performed by national recording artists, market vendors providing timely access to gifts and products for the holiday season, dedicated children's activities, a 5K Walk/Run, the Great Debate fostering the best of the best high school debate teams through scholarships for the winning team, and a charitable health outreach component that produced more than 27,800 screenings valued at over $491,000 during the 2008 event.
* Grand Opening of Wagging Tail Dog Park! - Keller Springs Road at 11 am. Mayor Tom Leppert and Dallas City Council Members Ron Natinsky and Linda Koop invite the public to attend a special grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Wagging Tail Dog Park. The seven acre park features a majestic deck overlooking White Rock Creek and includes walking trails, separate play areas for large and small dogs and drinking fountains for dogs and humans.
Dallas Animal Services (DAS) will be on hand to provide dog micro-chipping, vaccinations, and registration services. (Current rabies vaccination certificate needed to register dogs). DAS will also have five adorable dogs available for adoption. Fun activities for children will include face painting, hot dogs, a balloon man, fire truck, and the Dallas Police Department's K-9 squad.
