Cowboys Stadium and the Dallas Museum of Art have teamed up to bring a one-of-kind art experience to North Texas . As part of the Dallas Cowboys Art Program, Cowboys Stadium and the Dallas Museum of Art will offer a combin at ion tour ticket th at includes an Art Tour at Cowboys Stadium and admission to the DMA. This combo ticket is available beginning December 5 in conjunction with the premiere of the new DMA exhibition Big New Field: Artists in the Cowboys Stadium Art Program.
Tickets are $16 per person. All Cowboys Stadium Art Tours are docent guided and are only available Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The DMA tours are self-directed and available anytime during regular Museum hours. For groups requesting a docent-guided tour of the DMA, an extra $5 per ticket will be applied.
Drawn from the DMA’s collections and from select local priv at e holdings, Big New Field: Artists in the Cowboys Stadium Art Program fe at ures some twenty works by the artists in this innov at ive and groundbreaking public art project, including Franz Ackermann, Olafur Eliasson, Daniel Buren, Annette Lawrence, Terry Haggerty, Teresita Fernandez, and Doug Aitken, among many other others. Big New Field is on view through February 20. Throughout the year, the Museum’s acclaimed contemporary art collection will be the focus of the combo tours.
The art at Cowboys Stadium consists of 21 commissioned and original works of art by established and emerging contemporary artists. The Dallas Cowboys Art Program was conceived, launched, and funded by Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones and his wife, Gene. Their daughter, Charlotte Anderson, has also played a prominent role in the project. Under the direction of Mary Zlot of the art advisory firm Mary Zlot & Associ at es, an Art Council of noted cur at ors and collectors serves as a advisory committee to evalu at e and recommend artists and their works. Its members include Michael Auping, Chief Cur at or, Museum of Modern Art , Fort Worth ; Charles Wylie, Lupe Murchison Cur at or of Contemporary Art, Dallas Museum of Art; Texas‐based collectors Howard Rachofsky and Gayle Stoffel, and Melissa Meeks, Director of Two x Two.
